UK Developer Team17 announced this morning that not only has the follow-up to this year's downloadable title Alien Breed Evolution found a name, it's found a release date as well. It's sooner than you'd think - Alien Breed 2: Assault is set to release this week on XBLA and PC via Steam.

The sequel features new weapons and two new boss encounters, as well as a new "Survival" mode and Xbox Live Avatar awards. Alien Breed 2: Assault will be available on Steam and XBLA September 22nd.
