First of all, if you look at the page with the Hornet, you will see some new weapons, and that working wharthog was not made by Peter Jackson just to tell you, but a group of guys that are going to do a ton of shorts (they were the ones that did arms race).

WETA made the hog, and Jackson, I believe, is working with them.
Also, though it isn't too amazing, after watching this video you can tell you get some sort of award for killing someone with hte Spartan Laser. Vid;
