they were invented to fight the rebels...and yes, they were announced to the public for a moral boost. what is the difference between the "pirates" and rebels...ive read all the books and think they are the same.

| I own both books too. They are different. The rebels want independence, the Pirates want dough. | |

| But only two books really matter in this Pirates and Rebels discussion, Halo: The Fall of Reach and Halo: The Ghosts of Onyx. The other two books only have UNSC vs. Convenant (plus some Flood) fighting. | |

| Im probably going to die for brining this back to life but I read the fall of Reach 6 times. And it states that the Pirate leader operating out of the Eridanus system was a froemer Rebel Officer during the insurgencey during Operation Trebuchet. His name is Colonel Watts the S-IIs went in and captured him. Now in the Ghosts of Onyx the General that captures Blue Team says several bases that were attacked by the Spartans, and he does mention a base in the Eridanus system aproximately 1 year before, and it was attacked by guess who, the Spartans. So this has lead me to believe that The Rebels and the Pirates are the same organization, the pirates merely steal resources and supplies for the Rebels to use. Its sort of like the moneymaker while the actual Rebels are the fighting force. So at the same time they are different, but under the same flag and the same organization. | |

| Wow that last bit confused me after rereading it. Ok they are the same group just a few bases are used to pirate goods. There simply put. | |

And see the wikapedia page on the unidentified Halo project, it is an interactive movie.

| Wikipedia is not correct. That page has had that info since the game was announced. No one knows what its gonna be.
This is old news, FOX backed the movie the last day of E3.
